PPG PLUS Product Line:

CHOLESTEROL, LIPOPROTEINS, AND THE GREAT MODERN CLINICAL CONFUSION

In the 1950s, particularly around 1958, total cholesterol and lipoprotein values that today would be classified as “elevated” were considered physiologically normal. Average population total cholesterol levels ranged between 220 and 260 mg/dL, with estimated LDL values even higher in healthy individuals, without being automatically associated with disease. At that time, medicine was based on physiological and clinical observation rather than therapeutic cut-off points, and lipoproteins were understood as essential transport systems for cholesterol, fatty acids, fat-soluble vitamins, and hormones—not pathological agents in themselves.

Over time, modern medicine shifted this physiological approach toward a statistical and pharmacocentric model, in which isolated numerical values are treated without considering the overall biological context. The vehicle was confused with the cause, because free cholesterol is not measured—since it does not circulate in blood—but rather carrier lipoproteins, which are erroneously attributed with causing vascular damage. Current evidence, reinforced by genomics, demonstrates that cardiovascular risk does not depend on absolute LDL levels, but on processes such as chronic inflammation, oxidation and glycation of particles, endothelial dysfunction, and genetic variations that regulate their hepatic production and reuptake.

This perspective is fully consistent with the foundations of PPG PLUS, which does not seek to “normalize numbers,” but to restore and optimize physiology through intelligent nutrition, natural bioactives, and a personalized approach. From this conceptual framework, lipoproteins are indispensable biological allies whose function must be preserved and balanced—not indiscriminately suppressed. PPG PLUS therefore aligns with an integrative and evolutionary medicine, focused on correcting the real processes that damage health—inflammation, oxidative stress, and metabolic dysfunction—and on strengthening the body’s natural mechanisms to maintain longevity and quality of life.

THE PHYSIOLOGICAL ROLE OF LIPOPROTEINS

From a genomic, physiological, and biochemical standpoint, the human body is designed to biosynthesize large quantities of lipoproteins (VLDL, LDL, and HDL) under direct control of the hepatic genome. These particles are not waste products nor pathological agents per se; they are essential biological vehicles without which it would be impossible to transport:

  • Fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K)

  • Essential fatty acids

  • Structural and functional cholesterol

  • Coenzymes, steroids, and hormonal precursors, among others

A key point that is often overlooked is that free cholesterol does not circulate as such in the bloodstream. Cholesterol is a hydrophobic, intracellular structural molecule, present in membranes, mitochondria, and organelles. What clinical tests measure are carrier lipoproteins, used as indirect markers—not circulating “cholesterol” itself. This conceptual confusion has led millions of people to believe they suffer from “hypercholesterolemia,” when in reality they present physiological or adaptive increases in lipoproteins, often necessary to compensate for inflammation, oxidative stress, tissue damage, or metabolic alterations.

THE REAL PROBLEM IS LIPOPROTEIN OXIDATION, NOT THEIR PRESENCE

Lipoproteins do not cause damage by themselves. Under normal physiological conditions, they:

  • Are efficiently re-captured by the liver

  • Are effectively recycled

  • Participate in repair, signaling, and defense processes

Damage occurs when these particles become oxidized. Oxidation of LDL and VLDL is the central event that triggers:

  • Endothelial dysfunction

  • Chronic vascular inflammation

  • Atheromatous plaque formation

  • Platelet activation

  • Alteration of nitric oxide (NO) bioavailability

Among the main oxidizing agents that promote this process are:

  • Tobacco toxins

  • Excessive alcohol consumption

  • Synthetic sweeteners

  • Heavy metals

  • Vitamin deficiencies or excesses

  • Enzymatic and metabolic alterations derived from genetic polymorphisms

These factors explain why two individuals with similar LDL values may have radically different cardiovascular risks.

NOT ALL LIPID DISORDERS ARE THE SAME

Over more than 15 years of research, our scientists have confirmed that cholesterol and triglyceride alterations are not isolated diseases, but secondary manifestations of different pathological processes.

Preventing, controlling, or treating lipid disorders is not the same in:

  • Hypertensive patients

  • Cardiovascular patients

  • Neurodegenerative diseases

  • Gastrointestinal diseases

  • Individuals with diabetes or obesity

  • Patients with cancer or leukemia

  • Individuals with arthritis or osteoarthritis

  • Patients with sexual or hormonal dysfunction

Each condition has specific inflammatory, oxidative, and genetic mechanisms and therefore requires differentiated strategies.

PPG PLUS: A PATENTED RANGE OF PRODUCTS FOR PERSONALIZED LIPOPROTEIN PROTECTION

Based on these foundations, PPG NUTRITIONAL has developed, under patent, the PPG PLUS line, designed to protect lipoproteins (LDL, HDL, and VLDL) against oxidation, rather than indiscriminately suppressing them.

The different PPG PLUS formulations act on:

  • Reduction of systemic oxidative stress

  • Structural protection of LDL, HDL, and VLDL

  • Preservation of endothelial function

  • Control of platelet aggregation

  • Inflammatory modulation

  • Support of physiological nitric oxide production

  • Optimization of lipid metabolism according to the underlying pathology

The therapeutic key is not “lowering cholesterol,” but maintaining functional, non-oxidized, and properly recycled lipoproteins.

HEALTHY INTRACELLULAR CHOLESTEROL: A HORMONAL, IMMUNOLOGICAL, AND ANTITUMOR FOUNDATION

Healthy intracellular cholesterol is essential for:

  • Steroid hormone synthesis (cortisol, aldosterone, estrogens, testosterone)

  • Integrity of cellular and mitochondrial membranes

  • Maintaining high energy levels in all cells, tissues, and organs

  • Immune signaling

  • Defense responses against viruses and bacteria

  • Immune surveillance against cancer

  • Maintaining healthy male and female reproductive and sexual function

Chronic and indiscriminate suppression of cholesterol interferes with these processes and may weaken the organism’s biological resilience.

CONCLUSION

The future of lipid management does not lie in reducing numbers, but in understanding each patient’s individual biology, supported by genomic data or pathological inference. The PPG PLUS product range represents a paradigm shift, moving away from the pursuit of analytical values toward functional protection of the lipid system, based on genomics, physiology, and personalized medicine.

ADJUVANT PRODUCT LINE

Side effects and toxic reactions to medications account for approximately 15% of premature deaths in acute episodes. However, few people realize that the long-term, continuous use over years of medications prescribed for the control and treatment of hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, osteoarthritis, obesity, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, dementias, Alzheimer’s disease, and hundreds of other conditions, disorders, and syndromes often causes more harm than benefit to patients in the short and medium term.

The sustained use of medications intended to control and treat diseases, syndromes, and disorders frequently leads to the development of additional conditions, syndromes, and diseases that are generally more severe and more detrimental to quality of life than the original condition for which the medication was prescribed.

Fortunately, scientists at PPG NUTRITIONAL have applied empathic artificial intelligence methods, along with genomic and proteomic analysis, to investigate ways to counteract the adverse and toxic effects of drugs used in the management and treatment of these conditions, while simultaneously enhancing their pharmacological and therapeutic actions.

The adjuvant product line developed by PPG NUTRITIONAL is focused on reducing and eliminating the side effects of each medication used by patients to control or treat chronic diseases.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND THE USE OF PERSONALIZED “BIOFUNCTIONAL PROTEINS”

A comprehensive physical activity program includes aerobic exercise, muscle and joint strengthening, flexibility, and balance. However, in many cases, individuals arrive at gyms in physical conditions that do not allow them to fully assimilate this strategy in its integral form. Therefore, it is necessary to establish approaches aimed at weight loss, obesity control, muscle strengthening, increased muscle mass, joint reinforcement, and the reduction of inflammation in these tissues, as well as minimizing the risk of injury, among other factors related to age, sex, and each person’s specific health conditions. All of this is intended to determine the most appropriate training method and the type of “intelligent” nutritional support that enables improvements in cardiovascular function and, consequently, longevity, quality of life, and the control of diseases, disorders, and syndromes.

Based on this approach, our team of scientists has worked on the development of “intelligent” protein-based nutritional supplements designed to improve metabolism and activate endogenous factors that enhance physical performance and cardiovascular function throughout the different phases of training in individuals who engage in physical activity.

The strategy of developing “intelligent” proteins based on medicinal intelligence systems has made it possible to create approximately 35 such proteins with specific purposes, tailored to the physical condition, disorders, syndromes, or diseases of individuals who systematically choose to exercise or practice sports for recreational and health-improvement purposes, as well as for athletes and sports practitioners pursuing different training objectives, such as increasing muscle mass, improving endurance, enhancing cardiorespiratory capacity, increasing muscle contraction strength, preventing lactic acid accumulation in muscle tissue, and reducing inflammatory processes associated with training and prolonged physical exertion, among others.

Scientific Basis for the Use of “Deep Block”

Scientific research into the origin, microenvironment, ecosystem, biological characteristics, incidence, and recurrence of the virus responsible for COVID-19 in different animal species was key to combining fully natural active ingredients (registered with health authorities), which enabled the development of the formulation known as “Deep Block.” This formulation has the ability to support and strengthen immune system activity, block the entry pathways of viruses, bacteria, and mites through the mouth, eyes, and nose into the lower respiratory tract, and thereby prevent the disease from progressing to severe and critical stages.

Key benefits:

* Prevents the entry of viruses and bacteria into the upper respiratory tract and oral cavity, strengthening immune defenses.
* Eliminates sore throat, tonsillar discomfort, and gum irritation.
* Promotes gum health and helps eliminate gingival bleeding.
* Helps control seasonal and environmental allergic reactions.
* Reduces inflammation caused by viruses in the lungs, heart, and brain.
* Contributes to respiratory comfort and immune balance.
* Improves and refreshes breath.
* Easy-to-use oral spray for daily immune support

In addition to controlling viral entry into the body, “Deep Block” helps minimize the cytokine storm, inflammation, the development of pro-inflammatory mediators, and promotes the elimination of free radicals (antioxidant capacity). Together, these effects help prevent the progression of alterations generated by the uncontrolled activity of the immune system. This, in turn, reduces disease progression toward severe and critical stages and death associated with the process known as disseminated intravascular coagulation.

Finally, patients who have recovered from COVID-19 also benefit, as “Deep Block” helps reduce inflammatory processes in the heart, brain, and other organs, contributing to the complete resolution of such inflammation.

Scientific Basis for the Development of “Deep Block”

Based on knowledge of the receptors to which the virus responsible for COVID-19 binds, we performed three-dimensional (3D) modeling—supported by artificial intelligence systems—of the protein domain targeted by SARS-CoV-2 and identified natural compounds capable of interfering with or blocking this binding.

However, our research went further by deepening the understanding of the evolutionary pathogenic mechanisms that drive the disease toward severe, critical, and fatal stages in infected patients. Recognizing that cytokine storms, inflammatory processes, and disseminated intravascular coagulation are the primary causes of pathological progression enabled us to select and model—using medicinal intelligence systems—which natural active compounds, in combination with other nutrients, could prevent these pathological events from occurring beyond the control of the biological mechanisms normally activated in the human body.
